It is "Aragonite deep hot spring"

Against the established theory, “There is no possibility of a hot spring in Jeju”, a hot spring was found for the first time in Jeju in 2001. It was officially recognized as a high-quality hot spring and was recorded as a groundbreaking incident in the geological circles.

150 years ago, streams of pure water gradually flew onto the granite 2,001.3m underground which was created hundreds of millions of years ago and formed the source of the spring containing various minerals. The discharge temperature is around 42℃, which is differentiated from 25-34℃, the discharge temperature of most hot springs in Korea, making it the high temperature hot spring.

It is composed of sodium (calcium, magnesium) carbonate, similar to the components of the Xian Hot Spring, where Emperor Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty and his concubine Yang enjoyed bathing. The eccentric milky aragonite high-temperature hot spring water transformed from transparent clear water during the aging process is alkalescent which is not hard on skin and gives clean texture. It is also rich in calcium and carbon dioxide that it alleviates the cold feeling after bath and promotes metabolism that it is considered to have excellent effect on preventing and healing various diseases.

Two of the world's top geologists were consulted for the

analysis of the hot spring’s components. The result proved that the

aragonite deep-layer hot spring as a valuable hot spring with

the outstanding properties that cannot be found elsewhere.
